Azerbaijani president receives outgoing Latvian and Swedish ambassadors

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today received the outgoing ambassadors of Latvia and Sweden to the country Mikhails Popkovs and Hans Gunnar on the ending of their diplomatic missions, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today received the outgoing ambassadors of Latvia and Sweden to the country Mikhails Popkovs and Hans Gunnar on the ending of their diplomatic missions, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

The bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia have notably developed during the ambassador's mission, the President underlined. The President noted importance of the reciprocal visits of the top officials of both countries.

The Ambassador said he came to Azerbaijan in late 2005 just after the first official visit of Latvian president to the country. And since, Azerbaijan has quickly developed and changed, the Ambassador emphasized. He especially noted the high growth rate in Azerbaijan under the leadership of incumbent president and high economic accomplishments.

The President spoke about current bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden, exchanged views on future development of cooperation.
