Azerbaijan, Baku, July 21 / Trend, T. Hajiyev /
Ruling New Azerbaijan Party's (NAP) Youth Union intends to become a member of the "European Democratic Students" (EDS), NAP Youth Union deputy chairman Ramin Mammadov said in an interview with NAP official website.
"The youth organization of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) has observer status in EDS, and the AKP youth union's representation will help us in the future," he said.
At a meeting with EDS chairman Juraj Antal on July 12 it was stressed that the Youth Union of New Azerbaijan Party is interested in cooperation with this organization and expects the same attitude from the EDS, Mammadov said.
"Supporting this proposal, Antal stressed that he would make every effort so that the Azerbaijani representatives took part in all upcoming projects," he said.
The next meeting of the organization's Council will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, in September, to which NAP youth union has been already invited, Mammadov said.
"These invitations and activities will further provide strong support to NAP youth union to join the EDS. I hope that in the near future this issue will be addressed," he said.
