Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today received delegation led by the President of Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Congress Oscar Arce.
Noting successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and the United States of Mexico, President Aliyev expressed confidence for expansion of these ties in the years to come.
The head of the Azerbaijani State noted the role of inter-parliamentary ties in strengthening of relations between the two countries, underlining necessity of activation of cooperation in this field. The two countries have to seek opportunities for development of mutual trade relations, President of Azerbaijan said, stressing importance of the opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Mexico for the first time in the Latin American countries. According to the head of state, from this point of view, the reciprocal visits are of special importance. To this effect, the current visit of the President of Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Congress will be useful.
President of Azerbaijan praised adoption by the Mexican Senate of a decision on recognition of Khojaly genocide and expressed gratitude. President Aliyev said the chairman of the Mexico-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Marcos Perez Esquer was awarded with the "Honorary Diploma of the Azerbaijan President" and presented him the Diploma.

The President of Chamber of Deputies of the Mexican Congress Oscar Arce said they attach great importance to Azerbaijan as a fraternal country and are keen in development of bilateral relations in all fields, including in expansion of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Potential and further development of economic, cultural, education and parliamentary relations between the two countries were discussed in the meeting.
