Energy company eager to complete construction of module power station on schedule

“Azerenerji joint stock company will try to complete the construction of a module power station in accord with schedule вЂ" late December 2005,” Etibar Pirverdiyev, the President of Azerenerji, told journalists on Tuesday.

According to Pirverdiyev, Azerenerji discussed with the Finnish Wartsila, a project contractor, the term of exploitation of a module station. Pirverdiyev noted that representatives of the Finnish company complained of the short term set for handing over the station. “They urge Wartsila have never been allowed such short period for commissioning the station. However, we will try to complete it in accordance with schedule,” he said.

A ceremony of foundation-laying at Astara module power station was held on 8 September with the participation in the Azerbaijani president.

Pirverdiyev noted that the construction of the station assumed great significance and at present the work is in the final stage. “The construction of the station will be complete by late this month, while its joining to general energy system, synchronization and other work will be complete till end January 2006,” the President of Azerenerji stressed.

The said the intensified work would not evolve technical problems. “The work continues in accordance with the accepted rules,” Pirverdiyev.

Touching upon the gas supply of the power station, the head of the energy company said that gas delivery to station was included in the FEC balance of Azerbaijan and the amount will not affect on the gas supply of Astara District.

The regional director of Wartsila, Tope Bierkman, said that all security and quality requirements were observed during the construction of the power station. “At present mechanical assembly and installation of electricity devices,” he underlined.
