PM to represent Azerbaijan at special OIC summit in Malaysia

The Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh is representing Azerbaijan at forthcoming special summit of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) taking place August 3 in Kuala-Lumpur, Trend reports with reference to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan.

Officials of Azeri Foreign Ministry told Trend the governmental delegation also comprises deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadikhov as Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov himself is not expected at the summit.

The special session of OIC Executive Committee in Malaysia is devoted to fining solutions of The Middle East crisis.

At the summit a joint declaration is expected to reflect the position of Islamic community on the Middle East conflict. The OIC statement supposedly shall condemn Israels aggressive operations in Lebanon and call to unconditionally stop the fire in order to restore order on Lebanese grounds occupied by Israel.

At the same time, the measures on the soonest formation of peacemaking troops to play a decisive role in Israeli-Lebanese conflict will be discussed.

The decision on OIC gathering was made during 22-28 July actions within ASEAN. The special session of OIC Executive Committee was initiated by Irans President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.
