Days of Azerbaijan Will be Held in Philharmonic Society of Arkhangelsk City  Azeri Consular General in Saint-Petersburg

According to the task of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, the Consular General of Azerbaijan in Saint-Petersburg Gudsi Osmanov made a visit to Arkhangelsk province on October 24-26, Osmanov told Trend.

According to him, the visit was aimed to protect the rights and interests of the numerous Azerbaijanis, due to the recent fight with the illegal migration to the Russian Federation. Within the visit, Osmanov met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Arkhangelsk Administration Vladimir Voykov, Federal Inspector of Russian President for Arkhangelsk Alex Ermakov, Chairman of the Parliament Vitali Fortigin.

During the visit of the Azerbaijani Consular General with Voykov, discussions were held on the Russian-Azerbaijani bilateral relations, rapid development of the economy of the two countries, the role of the ex-Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev in restoration and prosperity of the Azerbaijani statehood, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev's care about the Azerbaijanis residing outside Azerbaijan and development of the Azerbaijani diaspora in result of this care. The Head of the province stressed that there are large potentials for the restoration, establishment and development of the bilateral relations and there is a necessity to attract large businesses in

the economical relations between Azerbaijan and Arkhangelsk. There is also a need to conduct a business-forum. They stressed that they are ready to conclude agreements for co-operation in the commercial, scientific-technical and cultural spheres between Azerbaijan and Arkhangelsk. In addition, an agreement was reached to hold an event under the slogan of Days of Azerbaijan in the City Philharmonic Society with the participation of the artists from Azerbaijan and Saint-Petersburg,, on the eve of Novruz Holiday (national holiday of Azerbaijan), Osmanov underlined.

According to Osmanov, the meeting with the Head of the Law-Enforcement Body focused on the problems faced by the Azerbaijanis. According to the representatives of the Internal Department of Arkhangelsk province Karpev, nearly 8000 Azerbaijanis live in this region. The Deputy Prosecutor of the province Shperling and the Chief of the Federal Migration Service on Arkhangelsk province Jarova underlined that a majority of Azerbaijanis follow the laws, but several factors (absence of passport, delay of relevant references received in Azerbaijan to gain the habitation status) cause breaking administrative rules. During the meeting, Osmanov stressed that the Consulate is always ready to co-operate and eliminate the problems jointly.

On October 26, the Consular General met with the mayor of Arkhangelsk. At the time of this meeting, it was offered Arkhangelsk to fraternize with any city of Azerbaijan, conduct a concert program for the anniversary of Arkhangelsk with the participation of the delegation of the Consulate and Azerbaijani art workers functioning Saint-Petersburg. The Head of the province positively assessed this offer. It was appealed to the Head of the city for allocating a building for the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the branch of the Azerbaijan International Bank in Arkhangelsk province, Arkhangelsk city.

In addition, the Consular General held a meeting with the 80 active members of the Azerbaijani diaspora. During the meeting, a Council was established comprised of 19 active members of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
