Russia, Moscow / corr. Trend R.Agayev / Culture Day of Azerbaijan took place at the Finance Academy of the Government of Russian Federation in Moscow. An exhibition along with the map of Azerbaijan, stands on culture, music, sport, relations with Russia was organized. Antiquarian subjects of the Azerbaijani way of life, everyday life, domestic devices, various dishes were presented.
The concert part of the event was presented by the Azerbaijani students of the Finance Academy, guests from Baku, particularly by "Karabakh Nightingales", Choreographic Ensemble "Friendship" headed by the honorable artist and ballet-master of Russia, Elmira Khaligova.
The event completed through the speeches of the Rector of the Finance Academy, Mikhail Eskindarov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia, Polad Bulbuoglu and President of the Finance Academy, Alla Gryaznova. The Rector said that the representatives of 40 nations study at this higher education institution and Azerbaijanis are very active and successful students amongst them. "Azerbaijan is a rapidly developing country. The indicators of GDP growth in Azerbaijan may be jealous even by Russia, but there are less Azerbaijanis than desired at the Academy," Eskindarov said.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan agreed that existence of only 28 Azerbaijanis amongst 21.000 students of the Academy is really less. However, the diplomat said that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, approved a State Program for Assistance to the Azerbaijanis studying abroad and therefore, it is possible to consider that the number of the Azerbaijani students at the higher education institutions of the works, especially Russia will significantly increase in the near future. The event was also attended by the President of the Azerbaijani Club of International State Institute of International Relations, Leyla Aliyeva.
