France, Strasbourg / Trend corr E. Mejidli / A member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Rafael Huseynov, have delivered a report on State of Democracy in Europe.
In his report, he noted that the Azerbaijani territories have been under Armenian occupation for over 15 years. Having noted that there are about one million refugees in Azerbaijan, he stressed that Azerbaijan was the only CE country that turned out to be in such situation.
Mr. Huseynov added that despite the CE's activities directed on the settlement of the conflict, no results had been achieved and the fact proved infringement of human rights. The occupation of a CE member country's territories contradicts to the regulations of the organization and the European values, he said
The Azerbaijani MP called on other CE countries to render assistance in this issue and marked the necessity of the cooperation with the organization in economic field.
