National Television and Radio Council of   Azerbaijan Gave One Month to Remove Lawful Discrepancies

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 April /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan gave its recommendations to three radio frequencies breaking the law, the Chairman of the Council, Nushiravan Maherremli, told Trend .

During the Council's meeting on 25 April, discussions were held on the monitoring radios ANS CM (102 FM), Azad Azerbaijan (106.3 FM) and Space (104.4 FM). The heads of these radio stations also attended the discussions.

According to Maherremli, the heads of these three radio stations were notified that the presenters use unaccepted expressions as well as break the law on advertisement.

"We demonstrated kind intention. We also neither gave an official warning to these radio channels nor punished them. Simply, we expressed our criticism and recommendations on breaking of law. We have given one month to remove these problems," Maherremli said.

According to him, if the radio channels do not remove the shortages in next month, the Council will take relevant punishment actions. The punishment includes firstly an official warning letter, secondly penalty and later withdrawal of license via court.

According to Mahheremli, today's meeting also decided to officially warn Kapaz TV channel which functions in Azerbaijan's city of Ganja. According to the Council, Kapaz TV has broken the Law on Advertisement.
