Uzbek and Pakistani citizens stand trial in Azerbaijan

The preparatory hearings on the case of Uzbek citizen, Mansura Hojayeva, and Pakistani citizens, Ah Jokhar Bahtiyar oglu and Ruhim Said Gul oglu, were held at the Serious Crimes Court on Sept.17.

The trial on the Uzbek and Pakistani citizens accused of drug trafficking has been launched in Azerbaijan.

The preparatory hearings on the case of Uzbek citizen, Mansura Hojayeva, and Pakistani citizens, Ah Jokhar Bahtiyar oglu and Ruhim Said Gul oglu, were held at the Serious Crimes Court on Sept.17.

The defendants are accused in accordance with Article 206.4 (Smuggling committed by the persons or organized group and in large amount) and 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

The police seized 8 kilograms of heroin when arresting them at the "Cenub" hotel of Baku in May 2009.

The juridical consideration was scheduled for Sept. 27
