If earlier the matter was organisation of Azerbaijani diaspora, now we are talking about the formation of the diaspora on a scientific basis, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov said at a press conference to mark the 10th anniversary of the committee.
Diaspora, as President Ilham Aliyev said, moved from defensive to offensive tactics, Ibrahimov said. He noted that the Azerbaijani diaspora adequately responds to the campaign against Azerbaijan.
Touching upon meetings held as part of the World Azerbaijanis Congress, Ibragimov said that ideas and suggestions voiced by President Ilham Aliyev will be the main directions of activities of the Committee for the next five years.
After that, Professor Rasim Aliguliyev, Professor Musa Gasimli, doctor of historical sciences Maryam Seidbeyli, doctor of political sciences Elman Nasirov, Ph.D. Zaur Aliyev and Ph.D. Rasim Mammadov were awarded diplomas for research on the activities of the Diaspora carried out for 10 years, and for cooperation with the committee.
