Azerbaijani Judicial Council Suspends Privileges of Two Judges

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend К.Zarbaliyeva / The Azerbaijani Judicial Council reported that during the latest meeting of the Judicial Council it was decided to suspend privileges of Rafik Miriyev, the chairman of the Surakhani District Court and Liliya Mavrina, the chairman of the Nariman District Court.

Such a decision against Miriyev was adopted due to obstacles created on the way of implementation of human rights, as well as corruption. In compliance with the decision of the Judicial Court, Mavrina was deprived of her judicial privileges due to violation of human rights.

The Judicial Court pronounced severe sentence against Aydin Hasanov, the Judge of the Khanlar District Court, due to break of legislation through creation obstacles in implementation of human rights. The Court assessed the functioning of the Judge as unsatisfactorily. The Judge cannot continue his responsibilities.

The Judicial Council began disciplinary execution with respect to Isa Asadov, the Judge of the Barda District Court and Shirvan Mammadov, the Judge of the Terter Military Court for serious violations in their work.

The project of the codex, developed by joint experts of the Council of Europe, was discussed and adopted during the meeting.

In compliance with the decision of the Judiciary Council, the head of the judges training sector and State prosecutors of the Council were appointed.
