The State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market is focused on ensuring transparency, economic fairness and transparent competition in the local market, the service’s head Mammad Abbasbayli told Trend.
According to Abbasbayli, these measures were reflected in the order signed by the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov.
"This order includes a list of measures to be taken by various bodies, including our state service. In accordance with the document, the Antimonopoly Service will continue to take measures to prevent and stabilize inflation in Azerbaijan," he said.
"Hopefully, all elements that can subjectively influence inflationary processes will be controlled," stressed the service’s head.
On February 21, 2022, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed an order on urgent measures to strengthen anti-inflationary measures in Azerbaijan. According to the order, measures are envisaged to improve the supply of food products to the domestic market, which is part of the minimum consumer basket, as well as to stimulate local food producers.
