BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. The foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR) amounted to $7.1 billion as of March 31, 2022, which is 0.3 percent or $1.4 million less than the previous month and 12.27 percent more compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports referring to the CBAR.

According to the CBAR, the official foreign exchange reserves of the CBAR amounted to $6.36 billion as of January 1, 2021.

Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves increased by 0.4 percent and amounted to $53.4 billion from January through February 2022.

“Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves exceed $52.2 billion, which shows the stability of the national currency,” CBAR Chairman Elman Rustamov emphasized earlier.

Azerbaijan maintains macroeconomic stability, Rustamov added.
