BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31. A total of 84 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey from January through April 2022, which are six companies less than in the same period of 2021, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) told TurkicWorld, According to Trend reports.
An increase in the capital of Azerbaijani companies was recorded, despite the reduction in the number of registered companies with Azerbaijani capital in Turkey, during the reporting period.
"The total capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Turkey amounted to 32 million Turkish liras ($1.9 million) from January through April 2022, while in the same period of 2021 this figure was at the level of 21.1 million Turkish liras ($1.2 million)," TOBB said.
Most of the Azerbaijani companies (68) were registered in Istanbul city in four months of 2022.
"The total capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Istanbul amounted to 25.3 million Turkish liras ($1.5 million)," TOBB noted.
Some five of the total number of companies with Azerbaijani capital registered in Turkey from January through April 2022 are involved in the industry, five in construction, 40 in wholesale and retail trade, two in real estate sales, three in the tourism sector, 10 - in the sphere of transport and logistics.
The remaining companies are involved in other sectors of the economy.
A total of 237 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey in 2021. Their total capital amounted to 63.1 million Turkish liras ($3.8 million).
Some 148 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey in 2020. Their total capital amounted to 21.1 million Turkish liras ($1.2 million).
