BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. The value of products manufactured by Azerbaijan’s industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs decreased from January through November 2022, Trend reports on December 12 via the State Statistical Committee.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to 80 billion manat ($47 billion), down by 1.1 percent on annual basis.

In the first 11 months of this year, production in the oil and gas sector declined by 2.2 percent, while in the non-oil sector – rose by five percent compared to the same period of 2021.

The committee noted that 76.1 percent of the industrial production during the reporting period accounted for the mining sector, 20.1 percent – the processing sector, 3.2 percent – the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.6 percent – the water supply, purification and waste treatment.

Meanwhile, commercial oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 5.5 percent, whereas commercial gas production grew by eight percent compared to the first 11 months of 2021.

From January through November 2022, production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers grew by 73.9 percent, clothing – 39 percent, electrical equipment – 37.1 percent, furniture – 33.4 percent, building materials in the processing industry - 14.5 percent, production of pharmaceuticals – 7.7 percent, production in the chemical industry – 2.7 percent, and in the metallurgical industry – 2.1 percent.

At the same time, production of leather and its products increased by 64.3 percent, machinery and spare parts – 46.9 percent, lumber and products thereof – 19.6 percent, paper and cardboard –17.4 percent, finished metal products – 13 percent, rubber and plastic products – 6.5 percent.

Textile production in the specified period edged up by 28.8 percent, petrochemicals – 5.3 percent, tobacco – 4.9 percent, drinks – by 4.7 percent, computer and optical products – 1.2 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume in manufacturing, distribution, and supply of electricity, as well as gas and steam, rose by 3.2 percent from January through November 2022. Moreover, production in water supply, waste treatment, and processing grew by 4.7 percent on annual basis.
