Türkiye reveals volume of cargo transshipment via local Bandirma port for 1Q2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. The Turkish Port of Bandirma handled 1.06 million tons of cargo from January through March 2023, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, 28,605 tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the Port of Bandirma, and over 1.03 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

In the first quarter of this year, Bandirma port handled 65,761 tons of transit cargo, the ministry said.

A total of 31.9 million tons of cargo were handled by the Turkish ports in March.

During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 2.3 million tons of cargo through the local ports.

The cargo transshipment by the ships flying the flags of other countries equaled 29.6 million tons.

In addition, the Turkish ports handled over six million tons of transit cargo in March 2023.

According to the ministry, the Turkish ports received 91.5 million tons of cargo from January through March 2023.

In the reporting period, the ships flying the Turkish flag carried 6.4 million tons of cargo, whereas the ships flying the flags of other countries transported 85.08 million tons.

Meanwhile, the Turkish ports totally handled 18.3 million tons of transit cargo.
