BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 19. A new director has been appointed for the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Trend reports.
Khayal Jafarov has been appointed to this position. Previously, he served as the director of SOCAR Carbamide plant.
The refinery is currently undergoing a modernization and reconstruction project. Currently, the facility produces around 30 types of products, including liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, industrial fuel oil, domestic fuel oil, petroleum coke, bitumen, lubricants, as well as liquefied gas fractions, naphtha, and dry gas. Up to 10 percent of the total production is exported.
Starting from the second quarter of 2023, the refinery has begun producing Euro-5 standard diesel fuel.
From the first quarter of 2024, the production of Euro-5 standard gasoline is planned to be launched.
