BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 22. The loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks grew by 20.3 percent as of February 1, 2024, year on year, and reached 24.36 billion manat ($14.33 billion), Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Long-term loans accounted for 20.37 million manat ($11.98 million), or 83.6 percent of the total loan portfolio.
According to the CBA, 96.7 percent of the loans were issued by banks and 3.3 percent by non-bank credit organizations and credit unions.
"The amount of overdue loans for the year decreased by 22.2 percent to 454.1 million manat ($267 million) and amounted to 1.9 percent of the total loan portfolio," added the CBA.
