Russian vessel's crew rescued on Caspian Sea

The fire was extinguished and crew of 'Kayakend' vessel, sailing under the flag of Russia and registered at the port of Makhachkala was rescued with the assistance of ships and helicopters of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet company of SOCAR and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration said today.

The fire was extinguished and crew of 'Kayakend' vessel, sailing under the flag of Russia and registered at the port of Makhachkala was rescued with the assistance of ships and helicopters of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet company of SOCAR and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration said today.

SOS signal from the vessel was at 02:00 a.m. Baku time.

Currently, crew of "Kayakend" vessel approach the shore at "Kura" (nine people) and "Whirlwind" (6 people) vessels. The ship will be delivered to the port of Baku after rescue operations are over to find out the reason of the fire.
