Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has approved Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the North-Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin as the chairman of the Russian part of the Azerbaijani-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. He replaced Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko, RIA Novosti reported.
Putin signed the corresponding order on Nov.12 this year.
Shmatko served as co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Russia intergovernmental commission since June 2008.
