A joint meeting of the Turkmen-Russian and Russian-Turkmen Business Councils has been recently held in Moscow. The parties stood for diversification of economic cooperation.
"Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper reported that among those present were representatives of the oil and gas complex, construction sector, energy industry, agriculture, as well as the Turkmen union of industrialists and entrepreneurs.
It was stressed that such spheres as the construction industry, chemical, and processing industries have great potential.
"The representatives of the Russian business community expressed great interest in expanding contacts in the transport and engineering infrastructure of Turkmenistan, as well as in joint geological and geophysical studies," the article said.
The Russian side also expressed a desire for cooperation in water management.
