Gold coin, currency prices drop in Iran

Gold coins and foreign currency have dropped slightly on Iranian markets today.

Today, one old-design Bahar Azadi gold coin was valued at $578 (USD), compared to $581 yesterday. A new-design Bahar Azadi coin cost almost $576, down from $579 yesterday, Mehr news agency reports.

The gold coins are minted and sold by the Central bank of Iran. The dollar's exchange rate is 19,090 rials today versus 19,170 rials yesterday. The euro costs 23,570 rials, down from yesterday's 23,720 rials. The British pound's price is 30,050 rials, up slightly from yesterday 30,000 rials. Iran's official exchange rate is 12,260 rials to the dollar.
