Prices of 11 groups of foods, including dairies, rice, beans, fruits, meat, sugar, and edible oil have risen in Iran in the week ended on August 30 compared to the same period in the previous year, the Mehr News Agency reported.

According to a report released by the Central Bank of Iran, dairy products, rice, fruits, and sugar rose by 7 percent, 0.2 percent, 0.1 percent, 10.1 percent, and 0.8 percent respectively, year on year.

According to the report, chicken price rose slightly, but red meat remained stable. Imported tea price fell a little.

Prices of staple foods in Iran will likely rise in Iran as the administration will no longer allocate U.S. dollar at the exchange rate of 12,260 rials for importing rice, meat, milk, and edible oil.
