Plant for production of solar panels in Kazakhstan increases capacity

Kazakhstan's plant for the production of solar batteries - Astana Solar, produced goods worth two billion tenges ($1-152.7 tenges), a message of the NAC Kazatomprom JSC said on Nov. 27.

"Since the launch of the plant on Dec. 25, 2012 goods worth two billion tenges totaling 27,564 pieces of photoelectric modules have been produced, which is equivalent to 6.4 megawatts of power. Today, on average over 300 pieces of photoelectric modules are produced with full load per day," the message said.

According to the company, agreements were signed with the domestic enterprises for the purchase of 15,413 photoelectric modules (3.5 megawatts) with the start of mass sales from June, 2013. It also envisaged to sale photoelectric modules for 1.4 megawatts.

Currently, Astana Solar is in the final stage of balancing and commissioning works. The plant intends to reach full capacity in the first quarter of 2014, the message said.

The plant's customers are mostly domestic companies.

"However, active searches for sales opportunities in foreign markets are being carried out. This is carried out first of all, with Kazakhstan's neighbours and partners in integration unions and associations. The main advantage of the plant's products is their quality, which meets the highest standards and technologies of the leading European manufacturers with real warranty terms for the goods and their subsequent operation," the message said.

Astana Solar plant was commissioned on December 25, 2012.
