Three mines have been discovered in Iran’s Semnan province, and some of these mines are wider than the province itself, said Behrouz Asvadi, head of Semnan Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Shata news agency reported.

He noted that Semnan province is one of the most important mining provinces of Iran. He said that 5 percent of Iran’s mining materials are extracted in Semnan.

Silicon dioxide, sulfate and celestine are mining materials of the province, Asvadi noted, adding that Semnan is one of Iran’s main provinces in terms of reserves of these minerals, as well as salt and gypsum.

“About 198 tons of products have been exported to 42 countries this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018),” he said. “The average value of each ton of products exported from the province is $457.”
