If the current problems in banking, insurance and transportation sector are solved, trade turnover between Iran and Syria may exceed $3 billion, Chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Gholamhossein Shafei said during his visit to Syria, Trend reports via IRIB news agency.

Shafei noted that nowadays, Iranian entrepreneurs may do business in the production sectors (foodstuff, construction materials) and provide services in construction in Syria.

As part of the free trade agreement with Syria, Iran may export all kinds of products to this country, except 88 products which are not meant to be exported.

Shafei noted that Iran-Syria Joint Economic Committee has been set up in the Chamber of Commerce, and chambers of commerce will contribute to the development of economic relations.

"We, Iran, Iraq and Syria, need trilateral cooperation in transport sector. So, we need to create a joint transport company," he said.
