Increase in export of poultry products from Iran's Markazi Province

Export of chicken legs from Iran’s Markazi Province increased four times last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), when compared to the preceding year, Mohsen Shanaqi, head of the Veterinary Department of Markazi Province, told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Shanaqi, 468,000 kilograms of chicken legs were exported last year under the supervision of the Veterinary Department of Markazi Province. However, exports of this product during the preceding year made up 112,000 kg.

According to Shanaqi, 293,000 kg of animal feed were exported from Markazi, with its exports increasing by 100 percent, when compared to the preceding year.

"389,000 kilograms of frozen chicken were exported from this province last year. However, the export of this product in the preceding year was 93,600 kg," he said.

Shanaqi also said that 105,000 live fish were exported to Turkey last year under the supervision of the Veterinary Department of Markazi Province, its exports also showing a 100-percent increase.

Last year, 1,13 million of decorative fish were exported to Iraq and Afghanistan, and 2.9 million kilograms of bird food were exported to foreign countries.

Shanaqi added that 11,000 kilograms of honey was exported under the department’s supervision last year.

Iran’s Markazi Province consists of 12 counties with a total of 1,539 villages. There are 899 poultry farms, 491 livestock breeding facilities and 191 marine farms operating in the province.
