At a meeting on the development of the automotive industry, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev set the task to the Uzavtosanoat company of increasing the production of cars to 350,000 units by 2023, and also to bring the volume of exports to at least 100,000 units per year, Trend reports with reference to the press the service of the head of state.
For this purpose, it is necessary to introduce an advanced industry management system, optimize production costs and production costs with the involvement of specialists from foreign consulting companies.
"From October 1 of this year, the benefits introduced for the industry will be canceled, and it will fully switch to the principles of a market economy. This, in turn, will require the introduction of modern management mechanisms, increasing the attractiveness and competitiveness of products manufactured by the auto industry," the press service of the head of state said.
The president pointed out that the cost of logistics for exporting one passenger car is 8–10 percent of its value, and therefore set tasks to support the industry, including in the form of partial reimbursement by the state of transportation costs for export.
Currently, the production of 5 types of cars is carried out on the basis of 5 different platforms, which increases the consumption of resources and time and significantly affects the price of products. In this regard, instructions are given to establish the production of several car brands on the basis of a single platform.
The president instructed the Ministry of Economy and Industry to take measures to increase the level of localization, in particular, mastering the production of 22 types of imported base components in Uzbekistan.
For six months from the beginning of the year, the volume of production in the automotive industry grew by 154 percent compared to the same period last year; net profit of 1.94 trillion soums was obtained.
