During each crisis, new areas of interest are revealed, and in this regard, Azerbaijan and Georgia will make every effort to bring these opportunities to life, Georgian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze told Trend.
The Ambassador of Georgia praised the state bodies of both countries, which are taking steps to provide assistance to their needy citizens.
"In the context of the pandemic, freight traffic between the two countries did not stop for a day. Georgia and Azerbaijan are making every effort to ensure that all goods reach their destinations," the ambassador said.
According to Georgian National Statistical Service (Geostat), from January through May 2020, trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $409.1 million.
The external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to $4.20 billion from January through May 2020, 16.8 percent lower compared to the same period of 2019. The exports equaled $1.23 billion (16.2 percent lower year-on-year), while the imports stood at $2.97 billion (17 percent lower).
