Uzbekistan's Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex increases polyethylene exports

Uzbekistan's Shurtan gas chemical complex exceeded its polyethylene export plan in the first half of 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz.

The plant has successfully fulfilled its export targets for the period from January to July 2020. In particular, the plan to export 11,700 tons of polyethylene in physical terms was overfulfilled to 17,122 tons (by 46.3 percent).

Besides, in July 2020 the company invested 3.4 billion soum ($331.201) in production of polymer parts for drip irrigation systems within the framework of localization program.

Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex was put into operation in 2001. The complex is capable of processing up to four billion cubic meters of raw gas per year and producing up to 3.5 billion cubic meters of methane, more than 125,000 tons of polyethylene pellets, 100,000 tons of liquefied gas, 100,000 tons of gas condensate, about 1,500 tons of granulated sulfur and over 2,500 tons of finished pipes and connecting parts.

The products of the complex are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Turkey, China, Poland, Italy and several other countries.
