Kazakhstan reports annual decrease in housing purchases country-wide

The number of purchases and sales of real estate in Kazakhstan amounted to 307,884 transactions over the period from January tthrough December 2020, which is 3.8 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The total number of buy/sell transactions implemented in Kazakhstan in Dec. 2020 amounted to 32,027 transactions which are 6.9 percent less than in Nov. 2020 and 15.4 percent more than during the same month of 2019.

The largest number of transactions was observed in Almaty city where it amounted to 5,392 transactions, which is 7 percent more than in Nov. 2020 and 1.6 percent less than in Dec. 2019.

Almaty is followed by Nur-Sultan city with 4,043 transactions, which is 8.5 percent less than during Nov. 2020 and 19.9 percent more than in Dec. 2019.

Karaganda region takes third place (3,308 transactions in Dec. 2020), showing a 4.8-percent increase compared to Nov. 2020 and a 14.6-percent increase compared to Dec. 2019.

The least number of purchases and sale of housing transactions during Dec. 2020 was observed in the Kyzylorda region (645 transactions, increase by 9 percent compared to Nov. 2020 and increase by 31.6 percent compared to Dec. 2019).
