Iran discloses number of restored mines

In general, the activities of 176 mines have been restored in Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to date, Executor of the plan for the restoration of small mines of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Reza Azimi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

Azimi noted that of these mines, 58 are on the production of metal products, 34 on non-metal products, 52 on decorative stones and 32 on construction materials.

He added that in total, these mines have 5.3 million tons of mining reserves.

The official stressed that 493 people were employed in the non-metallic mines.

As reported, 781 mines have been identified for restoration during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20, through December 20). The research operations were carried out on 376 of them.
