Turkmen carpet weaving enterprise of Dashoguz region have woven 3,029 square meters of carpets and carpet products in 2020, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The carpets and carpet products woven at the enterprise totaled 4.9 million Turkmen manat ($1.4 million).
Currently, the company weaves carpets of various sizes to order for residential buildings, administrative buildings.
As reported, the Turkmen carpet weaving enterprise in the Halach district of Turkmenistan’s Lebap region manufactured 9,299 square meters of products in 2020. Also, in order to expand production, a branch of the factory is being built in the village of Guych Birleshik village, with the opening of which an additional 100 jobs will be created.
Turkmen’s carpet is approved as one of the national symbols and declared a state property of the country.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are the production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand carpet-making tradition, and regeneration of old carpet ornaments and products.
