Iran sees increase in exports of non-oil products from Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 23

The exports of non-oil products from the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan increased by 258 percent in terms of value, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization of Hormozgan Province, Khalil Ghasemi said, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

The chairman noted that $2.07 billion worth of non-oil products were exported from the Hormozgan Province in 6 months.

“Of this, $1.37 billion is accounted for the province's industrial and mining sectors,” he added.

According to Ghasemi, the main exported products were steel, gypsum and etc. These products were mainly exported to countries around Asia and the Persian Gulf.

The chairman also said that the development of small ports in the province, as well as the infrastructure of the Jask and Sirik ports, will increase the province's exports.
