Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ Representatives of the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry have been invited to visit South Korea within the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding signed with the South Korean Food Research Institute (KFRI) in March, this year, a source in the Ministry has said.
The forthcoming visit is expected to last in Seoul since April 21 till April 28. It will be mainly of familiarization nature.
A source in the Azerbaijani Ministry said that the both parties had intensions to conduct scientific and research works on prolonging the shelf life of agricultural production after they are picked up. The first stage envisages the Azerbaijani party's putting forward to carry out all these work on the following three plants - grape, apple, and tomato. A project is planned to be prepared after all details are agreed, however, financial sources of the mentioned project have not been determined yet.
But the Korean party does not rule that Korea itself may present funds to implement the project, since the country has the relevant experience in the sphere of financing of such project in other countries.
