Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 August / Trend corr. E.Ismayilov / Bayil Limani Offshore Exploration Drilling Unit of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) put into operation two oil exploitation wells on the Alat- daniz offshore.
One of the two wells was drilled on the Alat- daniz -23 platform (well's project depth is 3,650m). The second well was drilled on the Alat - daniz - 60 platform (well's project depth is 3,870m).
Alat -daniz offshore has been operated since 1986. There are 14 wells in the field. According to geologists of SOCAR, the produced oil reserves from the field totals 1.8mln tons.
The Unit is planning to drill 19 oil and gas wells this year. About 13 wells are expected to be put into commission in 2008. Nine wells will be drilled in the Gunahli field, six - in Oil Rocks field and four -in Alat - daniz field.
Furthermore, the Unit plans to drill over 36,000 metres in 2008.
