The Shirvan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) generated more than 1.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in January-June, which is more by 28.1 million kilowatt-hours than projected, JSC Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in the regions of Azerbaijan) reported today.
The TPP generated about 137.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in June, which is more by 770,000 kilowatt-hours than projected.
The Shirvan TPP consists of seven blocks with capacity of 150 megawatts each, and is the first open station in Europe Given that the plant is in operation since 1962, its equipment obsolete and outdated.
