By implementing six development projects in Southwestern Abadan, Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan and Bandar Abbas refineries Iran's daily gasoline production capacity will increase by 12.8 million liters next Iranian year (starting March 21,2011), ISNA reported.

Iranian minister of petroleum Seyed Masoud Mirkazemi said the country's gasoline production capacity will rise by 20 million liters a day up to the July 2011.

"Currently some upgrading and boosting production capacity projects are being implemented in our oil refineries that will lead to increasing gasoline production capacity by 20 million liters a day up to July 2011," Mirkazemi added.

Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) managing director Alireza Zaighami earlier said that Iran's daily gasoline production capacity will rise by 28 million liters to 72 million liters in the next Iranian year (March 21, 2011-March 20, 2012).

Earlier in January, Deputy Head of Iran's Department of Environment Ali Mohammad Shaeri said the country plans to produce a daily volume of 8 million liters of high quality gasoline and gas oil based on Euro 5 by late May, 2011.

"It was decided that a daily volume of at least 8mln liters of fuel based on Euro 5 standards should be produced and sold at the gas stations," Shaeri said.

"Maximum by the end of June, 2011, the gasoline and gas oil sold to the public will be based on Euro 5, at least in Tehran," Shaeri added.

Iran started exporting gasoline after increasing its daily fuel production.
