In January-November, the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev belonging to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), processed 5.26 million tons of raw materials, head of the plant, Elman Ismayilov said in an interview posted on the Respublika newspaper on Wednesday.
Of note during this period, the plant processed 3.65 million tons of oil and 1.61 million tons of semi-finished products. The refining depth amounted to 89.7 per cent.
Ismayilov said that in January-November, the plant produced commercial oil worth more than 1.2 million manat. During this period 4.31 million tons of oil products were sold, 2.95 million tons of which on the domestic market and the remaining 1.36 million tons exported.
"This means the share of exports in total sales hit 31.5 per cent," Ismayilov said.
Oil products are produced at two Baku refineries with a capacity of 16 million tons of oil a year. Both refineries belong to SOCAR which annually processes approximately about seven million tons of oil from its own funds from onshore and offshore fields.
