Georgia, Tbilisi, May 23 / Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /
The term of activity of the KazTransGas-Tbilisi Company's special manager has been extended until June 2014, the National Energy Regulatory Commission of Georgia reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the committee has heard a report of the company's special manager for the period from March 2009 to May 1, 2013.
Given the cause for the decision made by the Commission in 2009 has not yet been eliminated, the special manager's term of activity has been extended until June 1, 2014.
It should be noted that Kazakhstan wishes to regain control over the KazTransGas-Tbilisi company, which has been managed by a person appointed by Georgia since 2009. This was done after the company's debt to the state budget of Georgia totaled $80 million.
Recently, Georgia's Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze has expressed willingness to discuss the issue of returning the manager from the Kazakh side to the company. According to him, the issue will be discussed during his upcoming visit to Astana in early June 2013.
