Turkey increases oil import by 2 percent per month

Oil imports to Turkey increased by 19 percent reaching 1.9 million tons in May 2013 compared to the previous month, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority said today.

According to the report, oil imports increased by 1 percent reaching 7.3 million tons in January-May 2013 compared to the same period of 2012.

Imports of diesel fuel during this period increased by 13.4 percent to 894,000 tons, while by 12 percent up to 3.6 million tons for five months of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012.

Exports of petrol from Turkey increased by 21 percent to 241,000 tons in May 2013, while exports of shipping fuel reduced by 12 percent up to 162,000 tons compared to the previous month. Exports of aviation fuel increased by 39 percent up to 243,000 tons.

Exports of petrol increased by 1 percent and amounted to 1 million tons in January-May 2013 compared to the same period of 2012. Exports of aviation fuel for the period increased by 11 percent to 859,000 tons, shipping fuel decreased by 35 percent up to 775,000 tons.
