Over 100 mostly oil and gas companies from Iran are preparing to take part in exhibitions in Ashgabat and Baku.

Iran's second oil, gas, petrochemical, construction, energy, water, electricity, and engineering service show in Ashgabat will be held in August.

About 150 companies will take part in the Turkmenistan show while some 130 will partake in the Azerbaijan show, Hassan Mortaja, CEO of trade company Pars Pegah Tejarat, which is launching the exhibitions, told Trend June 2.

A special oil and gas exhibition will also be held there in September.

In recent years, Iran has been trying to boost its services export.

A report by Iran Trade Development Organization says last Iranian fiscal year (which ended March 20) the country exported almost $12 billion in services.

The number had stood at $9.7 billion for the preceding year, which means last year Iran's service export jumped by 22 percent.

Mortaja said launching the exhibitions comes as Iran expects a prosperous future for Iranian companies in the CIS region.

He backed his hopefulness by noting that the Iran Project exhibitions in the CIS region have met with good favor from Iranian companies and have led in Turkmenistan to the conception of many contracts between Iranian and Turkmen companies.

As a result of these contracts, the Iran-Turkmenistan trade volume has hit $1.6 billion, he said.
