Turkmenistan, Malaysia mull co-op prospects in fuel & energy sector

Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman discussed the issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sector in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said in a message Jan. 12.

The parties exchanged views on relevant areas of interstate relations.

Speaking about the potential and wide opportunities for intensifying the effective partnership in various spheres, the two sides particularly discussed the issues of cooperation in the oil and gas sector, which is of strategic importance for both countries’ economies, according to the message.

Along with this, the cooperation at authoritative regional and international organizations was also touched upon during the meeting.

The two countries have common views and approaches on key issues of global agenda, primarily, on strengthening global peace and security, promoting sustainable development, says the message.
