By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

Thanks to the launch of the second stage of the gas processing complex at the Kandym project, gas production in Uzbekistan in the 1Q2019 rose to 3.8 billion m3 (in the share of the LUKOIL Group), which is 33 percent more than in the 1Q2018, Trend reports with reference to Lukoil.

Gas production by Lukoil Group in the 1Q2019 amounted to 9 billion cubic meters, which is 12 percent more compared to the 1Q2018. The main factor in the growth of gas production was the development of projects in Uzbekistan.

Currently, the volume of investments of Lukoil in joint projects in Uzbekistan exceeds $7.5 billion. The Kandym gas processing complex, commissioned in April last year, has reached its design capacity. The Khauzak and Shady fields, as well as South-West Gissar, are being developed.

The cumulative natural gas production at projects operated by Lukoil in Uzbekistan reached 60 billion cubic meters.

Lukoil produces about 14.5 billion cubic meters per year in Uzbekistan. The company has invested about $8 billion in projects in the country, of which it has already returned $4 billion.
