The Isfahan Oil Refinery located in Iran’s Isfahan Province has launched its 3rd distillation unit with a capacity of processing of 120,000 barrels a day, said Morteza Ebrahimi, CEO of Isfahan Oil Refinery, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
According to him, the entire processing capacity of Isfahan Oil Refinery makes up 375,000 barrels a day on average.
Ebrahimi added that the distillation volume of each of the 1st and 2nd distillation units will be reduced to 120,000 barrels a day.
"With the commissioning of the 3rd unit, the units that have reduced the viscosity of crude oil processing have been shifted to the core operating area," he said.
Ebrahimi added that the production of mazut has decreased with the introduction of changes, whereas the production of petrol, white oil, aircraft fuel and diesel has increased.
"If Iran needs additional petrol, it can increase fuel consumption by about 60-70,000 barrels a day," he said.
