BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Construction of a booster compressor station at the Malai gas field in Turkmenistan is at the final stage, Trend reports with reference to the Nebit-Gas electronic newspaper.

Currently, commissioning is being completed at the booster compressor station.

The design capacity of the booster compressor station is 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The infrastructure of the facility includes blocks "A" and "B", there are also blocks of a control point and a closed switchgear, and other objects.

The commissioning of the new gas compressor unit will help increase export supplies of Turkmen gas. So, Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern and the UK’s Petro Gas LLP company signed a contract for the construction of a booster compressor station to increase the volume of exports of Turkmen natural gas in 2018.

Malai is one of the most productive gas fields in Turkmenistan. In particular, gas supplied to the Turkmenistan-China interstate gas pipeline, is also provided from this field.

As reported, more than 672.6 million manat ($196.9 million) were allocated for the implementation of this project. Some 95 percent of these funds were spent on purchasing the necessary equipment, and only the remaining 5 percent was spent on commissioning.
