Oil transportation volumes through pipelines decrease in Kazakhstan

The volume of oil transportation and transshipment through main oil pipelines of Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil JSC amounted to 31.7 million tons, which is 1.5 million tons less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the company.

Cargo turnover of oil amounted to 27.3 billion ton-kilometers, which is 1.2 billion ton-kilometers less than in during the same period last year.

Consolidated oil cargo turnover amounted to 32.8 billion ton-kilometers, which is 1.4 billion ton-kilometers less than during the same period of 2019.

Oil supply to Kazakhstan’s refineries through the system of the main oil pipelines decreased by 1.1 million tons compared to the same period last year and amounted to 11.3 million tons of oil.

Some 3.6 million tons were delivered to the Atyrau oil refinery plant, 3.54 million tons to PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, 3.5 million tons to the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant LLP, and 689,000 tons to the Bitumen Plant within the Aktau Plastic Mass Plant LLP.

During the reporting period, the volume of oil transportation through the Atyrau-Samara section of the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara main oil pipeline increased by 278,000 tons and amounted to 11.8 million tons.

The section of the TON-2 oil pipeline located in Kazakhstan transported 8.1 million tons, which is 95,000 tons less than the same indicator for 2019.

Oil transshipment to the Atasu-Alashankou pipeline decreased by 307,000 tons and amounted to 7.9 million tons compared to the same period last year, and to the main oil pipeline of CPC-K system by 912,000 tons and amounted to 472,000 tons.

Oil loading to tankers in the port of Aktau using the capacities of KazTransOil JSC increased by 48,000 tons and amounted to 1.5 million tons.

Some 11.6 million tons were transported through the oil pipeline system of Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP, which is 508,000 tons less than the same period last year. Cargo turnover was 10.6 billion ton-kilometers, or 354 million ton-kilometers less.

MunaiTas LLP oil pipeline transported 2.3 million tons, which is lower than last year's figure by 133,000 tons. Cargo turnover was 920 million ton-kilometers, or 31 million ton-kilometers less.

The volume of oil and oil products transshipment by the group of companies Batumi oil terminal OJSC and Petrotrans Ltd amounted to 800,000 tons or 157,000 tons more.

KazTransOil is Kazakhstan’s largest oil pipeline company, which provides services on oil transportation on the domestic market and for export. The company is an owner of the largest network of main oil pipelines and water lines in the country, the total length of which amounts to 5,376 km of oil pipelines and 1,975 km of water pipeline.
