Bashkortostan increased in export fuel supplies to Uzbekistan from January through August 2020more than 45 times compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the State Committee of Bashkortostan for Foreign Economic Relations.
Foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan from January through August 2020, increased by 76 percent compared to 2019 due to an increase in export supplies of fuel from Bashkortostan to Uzbekistan.
“Also, a rapid jump in exports is observed in the sugar and sugar products product group, whose supplies increased from $149 to almost $5 million. In 2020, 147 enterprises of the region exported to Uzbekistan from Bashkortostan,” the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Belarus for Foreign Economic Relations Lena Izotova said.
The Chairperson of the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations Margarita Bolycheva said that Uzbekistan is given an important place in the foreign and foreign economic policy of Bashkortostan.
“Uzbekistan is a long-standing partner, including within the framework of the import-export line. Over the past five years, foreign trade turnover between the countries has increased by more than 1.5 times from $60 million to $99 million,” said Bolycheva.
Bolycheva noted that the growth in the foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan is conditioned by an increase in exports of mechanical equipment and machinery, wood and woodworking products, glass and glass products, as well as an increase in imports from Uzbekistan.
