The Petkim petrochemical complex of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey produced 3.1 million tons of products in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers for the last year.
The capacity of the petrochemical complex is estimated at 3.6 million tons per year.
"During the reporting year, Petkim exported 1.2 million tons of products to the foreign markets,” the report said. “The complex carried out export operations worth $363 million during the reporting period."
SOCAR Turkey acquired Petkim in 2008.
Petkim produces plastic packaging, fabrics, PVC, detergents, being the only manufacturer of such products in Turkey.
Petkim has been able to increase its throughput, energy efficiency, and product quality thanks to the implemented digital projects. These projects have also ensured efficiency and improvement of activity in finance and human resources, which have a direct impact on the financial results.
